The WELL Clinic is a primary care-based clinic that helps children and adolescents impacted by obesity. The WELL Clinic offers programs that are six- month to one-year long, comprehensive and customizable to help kids and families improve healthy habits.

The following options are available for patients referred to The WELL Clinic. Please make sure you have an active MyChart account to receive more information.
Healthy Living Visit (HLV):
All visits are with a clinician who specializes in nutrition and weight management. The program is six-months to one-year long and based out of your primary care site or region. These appointments are available in person or tele-health. HLV includes monthly theme-based visits and goal setting on key nutrition, physical activity, sleep, screen use, and social-emotional wellness topics. Optional programs are available for active HLV participants such as Virtual Teaching Kitchen and MOVE.
Additional coaching by an ACE Certified Health Coach may be available to support patients in between visits with their HLV clinician.

Virtual Teaching Kitchen (VTK):
The Virtual Teaching Kitchen includes nutrition and cooking topics taught by pediatrician and culinary medicine expert, Dr. Mary Tanaka. Class topics include making vegetables delicious, cooking with whole grains, healthier sweets, picky eating, meal prep and more. Active participants in the HLV program can schedule a tele-health appointment for a cooking session by asking their HLV clinician.

MOVE:
MOVE stands for Moderate-intensity, Outdoors, Variety, and Enjoyable -- key targets for a fun and effective physical activity program. MOVE includes two tele-health visits with Senior WELL Clinic Educator and Personal Trainer Katie Diaz. Active participants in the HLV program can schedule a tele-health appointment for MOVE by asking their HLV clinician.

CALM:
The CALM program is currently unavailable for scheduling, however, recorded video series is available.
CALM stands for Connection Awareness Lifestyle Mindfulness. It is rooted in positive psychology and takes a strength-based approach to helping patients manage depression and anxiety. It is an recorded video series with NP Nicole Kastner who has extensive training and experience in mindfulness including mindfulness educator certificate for children K-12 and 25 years of licensed massage therapy and kids yoga. CALM is not intended to replace therapy.
The program includes: Mindfulness /Wheel of Health; S.T.O.P. and 3 Good Things; Savoring; and Mindfulness Practice. CALM is ideal for patients ages 5 and older.
