Dispatched through 9-1-1, Psychiatric Emergency Response Teams (PERT) also come to your location, available 6am-midnight. PERT teams are made up of a licensed mental health clinician paired with a specially trained law enforcement officer.
Mobile Crisis Response Teams (MCRT)
Call the Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) to help you or a loved one if there is a mental health or substance use crisis. Available 24/7, they can come to you anywhere in San Diego County to help:
Stabilize people
Connect people to local care and support
Prevent trips to the hospital or jail
MCRT can help people of all ages and provide services in English and Spanish. MCRT can also assist in other languages through interpreter services.
Each team is made up of three staff: a mental health clinician, a case manager, and a peer support specialist. Teams do not include law enforcement staff. When they arrive, MCRT will assess and de-escalate the situation. They can also drive you to services you need.
MCRT cannot help if there are threats of violence or medical emergencies.

Behavioral Health Urgent Care
Rady Children’s Behavioral Health Urgent Care serves youth ages 5-21 struggling with concerns that pose an imminent risk to their safety, the safety of others, or significantly impair their daily lives.
We see youth experiencing the following concerns:
Suicidal thoughts
Homicidal thoughts
Intentional self-harm (cutting, burning, etc.)
Psychotic thinking
Severe depression and/or anxiety
Services
Safety assessments by a clinical social worker during walk-in hours (4pm – 8pm, Monday – Friday)
If a youth is determined to need psychiatric hospitalization, staff will facilitate transportation to an emergency department or psychiatric hospital.
Psychiatry and medication services are NOT available during walk-in hours.
Short-term return visits and medication services may be available after an initial safety assessment by a clinician during walk-in hours. These appointments are four to six sessions and offered on a case-by-case basis. For these short-term visits, Medi-Cal and some private insurance plans are accepted.
We offer translation services in over 150 languages and dialects.

TakemyHand™ utilizes the practice of mutual Peer-to-Peer supportive relationships that are welcoming and inclusive. The Peer Operators have lived experiences and are Certified Peer Support Specialists who explore the recovery process for those who may struggle with emotional difficulties and/or substance use challenges. TakemyHand™ Peer Chat Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
