  • To avoid blocking your baby's breathing, don't have pillows, large or floppy toys, plastic bags, or loose plastic sheeting in the crib.

  • Never use fluffy or deep-piled mattress covers or comforters in the crib.

  • Keep the crib free of all small objects that they could swallow (safety pins, small parts of toys, etc.)

  • Never use lambskins or water beds for your infant.
