    • Your baby may hiccup occasionally, due to the immaturity of the nerves controlling the diaphragm (the major muscle for breathing).
    • Usually, it does not bother them unless it occurs during feeding.
      • If it bothers them, change their position or try burping them.
      • Wait until they stop hiccupping before they resume feeding.
      • If it's a recurrent problem, try feeding when they are calm and before they become very hungry.
