    • Find your child’s weight in the top row of the dose chart. Look below the correct weight for the dose based on the product you have. Adult dose is 500 to 650 mg. 
    • How Often: May be repeated every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not give more than 5 times a day. 
    • Age Limit: Do not use younger than 12 weeks unless told to by your child’s doctor.  
    • Measure the Dose: Use the syringe or dropper that comes with the medicine. If not, you can buy a medicine syringe at a drugstore. Regular spoons or “teaspoons” are not a reliable way to measure medication.  
    • Suppositories (medicine that is put in the rectum): Acetaminophen also comes in 80, 120, 325 and 650 mg suppositories. The dose to give is the same as the dose given by mouth (liquid or pill).

    Call Your Doctor If

    • Your child looks or acts very sick. 
    • Any serious symptoms occur like trouble breathing. 
    • Your child is less than 12 weeks (3 months) old. 
    • Fever without other symptoms lasts over 24 hours (if your child is less than 2 years) 
    • Fever lasts for 5 days in a row or has gone away for 1-2 days and then returns.  
    • Fever goes above 104° F (40° C). 
    • Your child seems to be getting worse. 
    • You think your child needs to be seen or have other questions or concerns.
