    • The crib for your baby must have slats no more than two and three-eighths inches apart, no unsafe design features, and a snug-fitting mattress.
    • The top should be at least 26 inches above the mattress when it is at its lowest setting.
    • Regarding bumper pads, the most up-to-date research by the American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that the risk of death or injury from using them outweighs their benefits, and therefore they should not be used.
