Regional Center Services
Regional Centers provide services and supports for eligible individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Services are coordinated through an Individual Program Plan (IPP) and are based on each person's unique strengths, needs, and goals. A Regional Center service coordinator can help families identify and access available resources.
Vendored Service Providers
Regional Centers contract with a variety of vendored providers that offer services such as behavioral supports, social recreation, respite care, independent living services, and parent education. Families can discuss available providers with their service coordinator to determine which services best meet their needs.
Respite Services
Respite care provides temporary relief for caregivers by offering short-term supervision and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. If a respite provider does not have staff available, families may ask their Regional Center service coordinator for information about other vendored respite agencies with current availability.
Parent Education and Conferences
Regional Centers may fund approved educational opportunities, conferences, or trainings when appropriate as part of an individual's Individual Program Plan (IPP). Families should speak with their service coordinator to determine eligibility and available funding.

Medi-Cal Waiver Program
Some Regional Center clients may qualify for Medi-Cal through the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver, regardless of family income. Families should contact their Regional Center service coordinator to request the required waiver documentation before applying for Medi-Cal.
Once approved, Medi-Cal may help cover eligible deductibles, copayments, and services not covered by a primary insurance plan. Eligibility and waiver documentation must be renewed periodically.
