What: Free 45-minute water safety and swim lessons. The classes will teach skills for water competency including how to tread water, float, turn around in deep water, swim 20 feet and exit the water without a ladder. Lessons will be repeated until the swimmer can do all of the above with confidence. Competency means the ability to do something successfully!
Who: Children and adults (6 years old and up)
Where: 12 different pools around San Diego (see list below for a location near you!)
When: Year-round classes on weekdays and weekends at various times.
Why: Learning how to swim is a powerful skill that will enable both children and adults to safely enjoy swimming. Children should always be directly supervised by an adult who has these core water competency skills to prevent drowning.
